Two 1/2 Day Workshop:

Saturday, June 28, 2025 (9AM - 1PM)

Sunday, June 29, 2025 (9AM - 1PM)

In this workshop, the focus will be on a variety of sgraffito techniques.  Sgraffito is a decoration technique whereby lines and shapes are carved through a colored slip that contrast with the clay color. This typically involves a dark slip on a light-colored clay or vice versa.

In addition to sgraffito techniques, the workshop will be tailored to address a wide variety of issues participants want to address. These might include things such as handles, lids that fit, trimming techniques and wheel throwing.

This workshop is intended for students with a rudimentary to advanced skill level, with the understanding that it is not a beginning course in wheel throwing or hand building.

All materials are included. The instructor will provide pots for the students to use for sgraffito.

Students Should Bring:

• Notebook and pen

• Hand Towel

• Apron (if desired)

• Students may bring their own leather-hard pieces to work on for sgraffito techniques, if desired. (Cone 10 Clay Body, not heavily grogged)
